I work with Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (or IPPEs). I coordinate logistics with community pharmacies and health care partners throughout the state. While my primary role is to track student progress, I also coordinate with sites to ensure students meet all health and safety requirements. I also provide educational support by distributing and reporting on student evaluations and coursework.
My lab studies how DNA is translated into life and how genetic mutations can lead to disease using cutting-edge computational and experimental techniques. Recently, I have been excited to apply deep learning and other machine learning approaches to interpret results from massively parallel reporter assays (MPRAs), single-cell assays, and CRISPR screens.
The director of the UCSF Institute for Human Genetics (IHG) is being recognized for his lab’s work investigating gene regulatory elements––their relationship to human diversity and disease and their utilization for gene therapy.
