Laura Armstrong, PhD

Assessment Analyst

As an Assessment Analyst, I collaborate with School of Pharmacy faculty and staff on many assessment and evaluation activities to better understand and inform student learning and teaching. The School's strong culture of assessment allows me to work on and support a variety of projects and objectives including aligning and analyzing student performance and curricular data, developing and refining assessment rubrics and scales, exploring relationships between student performance variables, and creating and customizing data visualizations and reports. My goal is to collaboratively develop, gather, analyze, and contextualize information for evidence-based decisions that support the School of Pharmacy’s mission.

My research expertise

I love making meaning out of complex datasets – from design to collection to analysis to visualization to reporting – especially in service of essential contexts or needs. My previous research and evaluation projects have given me experience in both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis across a variety of higher education populations (students, faculty, staff) and contexts (green chemistry and anti-racism education). My current interests include exploring how to make research and evaluation data accessible and useful to as many people as possible within the context of health care education.
