UCSF CAMPUS NETWORK
The UCSF campus
network provides high-bandwidth, low-latency access to the Internet,
the CalREN-2 (www.calren2.net)
advanced wide-area network, and the Abilene Project
advanced backbone network. UCSF is also a member of the Internet2
project (www.internet2.edu)
and is developing next-generation computer applications to exploit
fully the capabilities of high performance broadband networks.
Access to remote computer facilities, such as the NSF-sponsored
supercomputer centers (including the Cray T90 and Cray T3E at
the San Diego Supercomputer Center) is also available via these
network links.
