Sali and Yee earn Teaching Awards

The 2016 winter term Teaching Awards are out, and we are pleased to announce that Andrej Sali, PhD and Sook Wah Yee, PhD have each earned The Apple!

The awards are bestowed based on student evaluations. Both Sali and Yee are multiple-time recipients of this honor, having met or exceeded a score of 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 5, considered outstanding.

Speaking of Sali, Dean p, said, "Good teaching comes from passion, keeping on top of your field, listening, experimenting, maintaining a sense of humor, and caring deeply about a student's learning—all the while keeping in mind that everyone learns differently." Referring to Yee, he said, "You are one of the teachers who has made the classroom come alive for our students; your expertise and commitment to helping students learn has enriched the academic experience of our students in untold ways."

To both awardees, Guglielmo added, "I join the students in applauding you for your dedication to teaching."

Department Chair Tejal Desai, PhD added her congratulations, saying, "Andrej and Sook Wah bring great honor and distinction to the entire department; we thank them for their dedicated service."
