Donglei Hu Research Specialist dhu@medicine.ucsf.edu		I am a statistical analyst in Burchard’s group. I study genetic basis of asthma in different ethnic groups by using concepts and methods in population genetics, admixture mapping, and genetic epidemiology.
Josh Galantar Postdoctoral Scholar joshua.galanter@ucsf.edu	Toronto, Canada	Joshua Galanter is an MD specializing in pulmonary diseases and clinical pharmacology. He has an interest in genetic and environmental determinants of asthma in minority populations.
Marc Via Postdoctoral Scholar viagarciam@medsfgh.ucsf.edu	Barcelona, Spain	B.S. and Ph.D. by the University of Barcelona (Spain). His research interests include: genetics of Latin American and Mediterranean populations; characterization of admixture and population stratification in these populations; and analyses of its impact on epidemiological research of complex diseases.
Melinda Aldrich Postdoctoral Scholar aldrichmc@medsfgh.ucsf.edu		Melinda Aldrich is a Postdoctoral Fellow with a focus on genetic epidemiology. Her research interests include the genetic epidemiology of chronic disease, personalized genomic testing, health disparities, risk factors for racial/ethnic differences in disease susceptibility and survival outcomes, gene-environment interactions, pharmacogenetics, and parent-of-origin effects.

Lindsey Roth Senior Statistician rothl@medsfgh.ucsf.edu		Senior Statistician with an emphasis on population genetics. She graduated from UC Berkeley with an MA in Biostatistics.
Brenda Lopez Clinical Recruiter lopezb@medsfgh.ucsf.edu	Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic	I’m a physician and I have a post grade in anesthesiologist in the Dominican Republic. I have been working for almost 15 years in the medical field. At this time, I’m working as a clinical recruiter in Dr. Burchard’s lab.
Scott Huntsman Programmer shuntsman@medicine.ucsf.edu		Scott serves as a programmer for the group. He currently manages the vast GWAS data and performs other programming duties for the lab. Scott received his Bachelors in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and has been working at UCSF for several years. He also has an MS in Computer Science.
Justin Sewell Clinical Fellow		Clinical fellow in gastroenterology with research in inflammatory bowel disease. His focus is the interwoven roles of genetics, environmental influences, and socioeconomic factors in the pathogenesis and course of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. He is developing a cohort of ethnically diverse patients with inflammatory bowel disease in order to perform genetic analyses, including racial admixture.
Lisa Caine Respiratory Care Practitioner CaineL@medsfgh.ucsf.edu		Respiratory Care Practitioner acting as the Pediatric Asthma Research Coordinator/Manager for the Study of African Americans, Asthma, Genes and the Environments. Chris Gignoux Graduate Student chris.gignoux@ucsf.edu		I'm a graduate student interested in the evolutionary history of people around the world and how that diversity today shapes the patterns and prevalence of disease. I'm currently working on detecting asthma susceptibility and other pulmonary phenotypes with large-scale genotyping data. In addition I'm interested in reconstructing sub-Saharan African demography and the settlement of the New World using genetics.
