Organization
The Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences is under the administrative oversight of both the dean of the UCSF School of Pharmacy and the dean of the UCSF School of Medicine, both of whom report directly to the UCSF chancellor. The department is:
- 1 of 3 departments in the UCSF School of Pharmacy
- 1 of 28 departments in the UCSF School of Medicine
- the only joint department of its kind at the University of California, San Francisco.
The schools of pharmacy and medicine--together with the schools of nursing and dentistry, a graduate division, and a medical center--form UCSF, which is one of 10 campuses in the University of California (UC) system. UCSF is the only UC campus devoted solely to the health sciences. It is a graduate-level-only institution.
